Register for the Powell English Test

Please ensure that you need to take this test before registering. An administration fee of at least $10 will apply to any refund. You can find our refund policy here.

Powell English Test

If you are taking the test for the first time, select "First Attempt". If you have taken the test before, select "Retest".  Only select "Proctoring Centre Retest" if you've been specifically instructed to do so by Powell English Testing.

Your login information will be valid for 90 days.


Photo Identification Upload


Upload a close up photo of your government issued ID (driver’s license, passport, status card, or BC ID card).

Your photo and birth date must be clearly visible. You may cover other personal information if you wish. This photo may be shared with your academic institution to confirm your identity.

Causes and Consequences of Academic Dishonesty

No form of spell checking and/or grammar checking in any language is permitted during the test. This includes spell checkers that are built into your computer and/or Internet browser as well as downloaded applications such as Grammarly.  It does not matter if the tool is actively used or not. It is the test-taker's responsibility to turn off all spell-checking devices before beginning the test.  If any words are underlined in red during the test, a passing score cannot be achieved.
